Am i being paranoid , or is she telling the truth, mothers would you lie?

i starting babysitting for this family i met through a babysitting company and the mom liked me so much she did not want another sitter and even canceled a sit she needed filled because mom said she wanted me specifically not the other sitter that had taken their sit...she texted me to let me know she wanted me..anyway, i sat for them that sit under table..meaning i didnt report it to the babysitting company since the owner never got back with the mom regarding changing sitters to be my sit..then one of the boys birthday came around and he requested i be there , but mom didnt invite me so of course i didnt attend..and then the following week i texted mom to see if she needed me so i would jump on taking their sit on the website since if its sitting there too long, someone else will take it..well she texted me saying her husbands work shift changed and she consequently has to change her shift..(she used to work 3rd shift) now her husband will work 3rd shift, hes a cop moms a nurse..she said shell keep me posted..i dont know should i believe her or just forget about them completely ? it got under my skin because she could have texted me as soon as she knew about the changes instead of having me do it..i need the money if i dont take her sit, which by the way she requested i be available sat nights to sit for her family, i could have other plans and take sits for other families...so is she telling me the truth, will she keep me posted, have you ever done something similar?
