Does Kirk Hammett only do solos in Metallica?

Hetfield's riffs keep the rhythm of the song going, which is why he is the rhythm guitarist. Kirk plays everything else. I'm also fairly certain that James also plays a couple of solos. Of the ones I'm certain of I know he plays one of the two solos from Master of Puppets (I think it is the first one) and he does a double solo with Kirk on Death Magnetic on either End of the Line or That Was Just Your Life.
