I put gas in my generator that had water, drained it, put fresh gas in.now it won't start.Won't turn .help...

My generator ran well after the storms ,last week I burned up the old gas.But i put gas in the generator ,that the container had a crack in the nozzle. It was out side and water got in it.Before I figured it out ,I put the gas in.I drained the gas the next day ,put fresh gas in now it won't start.Is this something major or can I solve this with a carb cleaner additive.Please help,storm season is a week away.Thank you
