What can we do about child cruelty and neglect!?

yet again child cruelty has hit the headlines as if this is a rare occurrence! even the frequency of the highly trained individuals igned to save this particular child from persistent abuse leading to a sad death. with every�blameworthy incident out comes the prepared statement " lengthy in depth inquest , no one should be blamed, lessons must be learnt, will be working alongside other authorities etc. etc" makes me sick too my stomach, social workers that say their heavy case load is too much and cannot deliver the right results, it is not their fault, it is the system, well do SOMETHING about it then. what are you afraid of? your job? black mark on your c.v? meteoric rise up the ranks? money? power? what is the problem? could we once really find out what is wrong? i fear that as it goes we will never get anything near it and if heads roll within months the guilty parties will be back at work, civil liberties. unfair dismissal some legality that separates the "us" the ones whose wrong doing would be a sacking offence and the" them" who get away without blemish too their name.
